Trent Sterry

Dairy Ingredient Specialist

Trent grew up on a small dairy farm, attended school for food science with a dairy emphasis, and then started working in the University Cheese plant. He also has 15 years of experience in the industry, so he is uniquely suited to serve customers and partners.

His current role with Nelson-Jameson is to provide solutions and technical advice to customers. This entails all aspects of cheesemaking from the milk coming from the cow, to the cheese being packaged to go directly to consumers. Trent specializes in troubleshooting customer issues and is continuously learning new processes and technology in the industry.

“I am able to dive into the process with them as I have lived in their shoes.”

Aside from his role with Nelson-Jameson, he has served as a sanitation supervisor, cheese plant superintendent, plant manager, and cheese technologist. Trent also holds a degree in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

"I have a lot of plant experience and know where to look to dive into a plant problem. Facilities will inevitably have issues with equipment and rely on that vendor for solutions – and I can assist in providing that solution."
