Wendy
Director of Safety and Corporate Compliance
Over a decade ago, I brought the idea of implementing the SQF program at Nelson-Jameson to senior management. I was given their blessing, and little did I know then that choice would encompass much of my career. We started with the Marshfield distribution center and now 14 years later we have all of our DCs included in our food safety program. In the words of SQF, "we say what we do and do what we say!
Wendy has been around the food and dairy industries for as long as she can remember.
She started her career at Nelson-Jameson in customer service, where she supported partners. Now, as Director of Safety and Corporate Compliance, much of her focus is on supporting internal team members.
In her role, Wendy has a wide range of responsibilities including software testing, reviewing Nelson-Jameson’s Safe Quality Food (SQF) program, and working with personnel and distribution centers to ensure compliance, in addition to collaborations and corporate training.
Wendy also has early roots and memories of the food and dairy industry, as both her and her husband’s grandparents were farmers. Her great-grandfather even owned a small cheese factory.
While at Nelson-Jameson, Wendy implemented the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program. Now, all of Nelson-Jameson’s distribution centers are included in its food safety program. Wendy holds several certificates, including those of an SQF practitioner, SQF lead auditor, and those in OSHA and DOT compliance.
Wendy has been featured in publications such as Food Quality and Safety and Labiotech.
