In Honor of Our U.S. Veterans: You Are Never Forgotten

Serving U.S. Veterans in 13 counties in Northern & Central Wisconsin, The Never Forgotten Honor Flight is a non-profit organization that provides U.S. Veterans with closure, gratitude, and respect by flying them to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials built in their honor. As an affiliate of the Honor Flight Network, the trip is free for all U.S. Veterans.

Private and commercial donors provide the memorial trip, which is supported by many volunteers. There is no paid staff; volunteers organize the travel, all transportation, activities, and meals.

The one-day trip is a full-day agenda. Most of the time is spent at the World War II, Korean, and Vietnam Memorials. Veterans also visit the Lincoln Memorial, Air Force Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial (Marine Corps War Memorial), Arlington National Cemetery, and the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Washington D.C.'s prominent buildings and other Memorials are also part of the viewing along the city tour.

Nelson-Jameson provided matching contributions to this important organization to honor the ones who have served and to honor those who have perished in their duties. We honor the ones still serving and who will serve. We honor individuals who fight for our freedom.

There are 4.048 gold stars on the WWII Memorial, The Freedom Wall. Each star represents 100 American military deaths. The stars add up to more than 400,000 soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and military personnel who lost their lives or remain missing in action in World War II. The gold stars come from a military tradition in the USA where military families hang small flags in the windows of their homes to note that a family member was serving in uniform.

In front of the Freedom Wall lies this message:

"Here We Mark the Price of Freedom"
