Our mission
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation (NJF) is focused on supporting philanthropic organizations that enhance our core value as a Golden Rule Company. Grants are targeted toward charitable programs that are related to the food and dairy industries or support charities that are important to Nelson-Jameson employees and the communities in which they reside.
Our Communities
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation believes that supporting our communities is the shared responsibility of every citizen and corporation. Together we can contribute to a more equitable and resilient world — today and for generations to come.
Donation & Charitable Giving Grants
OThe Nelson-Jameson Foundation welcomes grant requests from 501(c)(3) organizations, including government agencies, private/public schools and tribal organizations whose charitable programs satisfy one or both of the following requirements:
- Related to the food/dairy industry
- Located in or near Nelson-Jameson's distribution center locations:
- Marshfield, WI
- Turlock, CA
- Jerome, ID
- Amarillo, TX
The Foundation reviews grant requests quarterly. If you would like the Foundation to review your request at its next meeting, please submit it by February 12, 2025.

Matching Gift Program
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation wants to support causes that our workforce cares about. The Matching Gift Program will match donations between $50 and $1,000, that employees make to 501(c)(3) charities. Donations will be matched by the Foundation one dollar for every dollar contributed by the employee, up to $1,000 in a fiscal year (October 1 – September 30). Select charities will have a two-dollar match from the Nelson-Jameson Foundation as determined by the Board. View the Matching Gift Program policy.
Our Employees
The Golden Rule Scholarship
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation is working to educate students and offer solutions for social challenges by providing The Golden Rule Scholarship Program. Family members of Nelson-Jameson employees can apply for scholarships at accredited two or four-year schools. An independent committee reviews the applications. Please note that returning students must have a 2.75 GPA or higher to apply. View the Golden Rule Scholarship Program policy.

Foundation Committees
Employees are invited to get involved with the Foundation by volunteering on one of our Foundation committees.
Our Industry
Scholarship Program
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation is committed to funding scholarships for students studying food and dairy science at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of Wisconsin Madison, as well as UW-River Falls. It is our intent to expand this program nationwide to help fund the education of future innovators in the industry.

Under our current IRS 501(c)(3) status, the Nelson-Jameson Foundation is unable to support individuals or families (other than through the Golden Rule Assistance Fund and the Scholarship Program). In addition, the Foundation is unable to fund programs for religious purposes, direct lobbying or political entities/campaigns.
