Hockey is more than just a sport; it's a community, a family, and a bond that brings others together, regardless of their different backgrounds. The very nature of hockey emphasizes teamwork, unity, and collaboration. A team's success on the ice depends on the hard work and dedication of every individual player, both on and off the ice.
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation strongly believes in the power of community and teamwork, which is why the Nelson-Jameson Foundation supports our local youth hockey program in all that it stands for. The annual fundraiser, Hockey Unlimited, is crucial for the Marshfield Hockey Association. Past contributions from generous donors and believers have helped in various areas, including locker room and shower additions, bleacher heaters, electric Zamboni, player gear, technology, and scholarships.
This year's funds will be used to replace the existing rink boards, which are a vital component of the game, The new, reinforced boards will provide a safe barrier to keep the puck and players within the playing surface. This will ultimately reduce the risk of injury from damaged or old rink boards. And, of course, to get that dynamic board bounce that keeps everyone surprised and excited!
