Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment Statement (QHSE)

From its inception in 1947, Nelson-Jameson’s founding principle has been the “Golden Rule.”  Treating others as we want to be treated has guided the Nelson Family of Companies throughout our 75-plus years of business and continues to shape our approach to the health and welfare of our employees, our communities, the food industry, and the environment.  

The following encompasses and applies to the Nelson Family of Companies, including Nelson-Jameson, Inc., NEXT Logistics, and all employees therewithin.  In addition to our ESG mission, and guiding principles, we have created five core areas of concentration we call “Our Commitments.”  Our commitments reflect/reference United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, GRI Standards, and ISO 26000 Standards, as well as biennial materiality assessment results.   

QHSE standards are set, maintained, and measured by our Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Task Force, the management team, Employee Experience, and regulatory department, in consultation with the Board of Directors.  Core principles and commitments are reviewed every two years.

We engage with stakeholders to ensure a fair, ethical supply chain, and a sustainable environmental future.  We are committed to finding new efficiencies to help reduce our footprint, and by working with suppliers/manufacturers on sourcing sustainable, ethically produced product solutions that ensure the safety of the food supply.
