Blue 640 Barrier Tubes are large format liners for use with 640-lb cheese blocks. The nylon EVOH coextrusion film structure is designed with 2.75 mil thickness and high-barrier properties to protect against moisture, gas, and oxygen to secure product quality and shelf life. A high oxygen barrier works to prevent the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms that can cause early spoilage and affect the product's taste and texture. A moisture vapor transmission rate < 0.60 allows the cheese to breathe while maintaining the proper moisture level to prevent the cheese from drying out. Great puncture resistance provides a higher level of protection and helps to preserve the quality and freshness of cheeses, resulting in reduced risk of spoilage and waste. Excellent tear resistance helps to manage the strain on the packaging film to prevent tears and punctures. The side seal sleeve provides easier packaging for a much more reliable seal. For easier and quick identification, the 640 barrier tube is made of a distinctive blue color.
