Detect total coliforms and E. coli in water samples in 16 to 48 hours using an EPA-approved selective and differential medium with these test kits. Easy one-step, ready-to-use medium; all you do is add to your water sample, incubate, and read results. Negative coliform is clear, positive for coliforms is yellow and positive for E. coli is blue with a UV lamp (694-2010).
This extremely sensitive test kit detects 1 chlorine injured CFU of total coliform or E. coli in a 100 mL sample. No further confirmation or verification steps are required. Colitag provides you with an alternate method for detecting fecal coliforms and both MUG-positive and MUG-negative E. coli. This procedure utilizes increased incubation temperatures to determine fecal coliforms - a UV lamp and Kovac's reagent (304-3067) is needed. Suggested vials for water sampling are 170-3254. 20 tests per kit.
