Neogen® Soleris® Direct Yeast & Mold Vial, 100/Box

The direct yeast and mold vial enables the rapid detection of yeast and mold in a wide range of food, nutraceutical, and personal care/cosmetic products. This broad-inclusive vial has a typical assay time of 48-72 hours for most applications. As yeast and molds grow in the broth medium, the carbon dioxide (CO2) they produce diffuses through a membrane layer into a soft agar plug that contains a dye indicator. An instrument then reads the resulting color change in the dye. 

The membrane layer in the vial acts as a barrier, preventing interference from the product with the reading window. Additionally, chloramphenicol is included in the vial for selectivity purposes, which minimizes the end user's exposure since it is contained within the vial rather than as a separate supplement.
