Safe and efficient, the OEM butterfly valve seat features a disc that rests securely on the seat to close and seal the valve, and maintain it during thermal, friction, and impact stressors within the processing application. Built to resist wear and tear with repetitive opening and closing, the butterfly valve seat functionality depends greatly on the material, pressure, and temperature of the application for which it is needed. Three of the most common materials are Silicone, EPDM, and Viton. EPDM is a tear-resistant rubber that endures repetitive motion and is suited for HVAC applications. Butterfly valves with silicone material stand up well to acids, alkalines, steam, and ozone and are also tear-resistant. Viton material offers higher temperature resistance and superior chemical resistance, however, Viton is not made for use in steam applications and is relatively poor in water services. Butterfly valves are OEM products created identical to the original part and tested for exact specifications and compatibility.
