Art is the symphony of creativity, an expression of our humanity.
Arts education has many impressive benefits and gives us wonder through vibrant colors, exquisite media, and limitless imagination. When we experience art through creation or appreciation, we find meaning and understanding, often lifting our moods and opening our minds to new ideas. Thought-provoking pieces can create a reaction, often instantly, and may pull at the roots of a deep-seated memory or personal experience. Art can improve our quality of life, assist in spiritual growth, and help us achieve different life milestones.
Nelson-Jameson, however, knows that not everyone has access to quality art learning experiences. With donations to art programs and theaters, such as the LuCille Tack Center for Arts, Nelson-Jameson helps bring forth the profound metier to grab a glimpse into the vast and wondrous world we can only imagine.
LuCille Tack Center for the Arts, a local fine arts center in rural Spencer, WI, is a beautiful facility offering diverse events and programs that allow people of all ages and backgrounds to explore, express, and take in artistic passions and creations. The Fine Arts Center was named after LuCille Tack, a native of Spencer, and her husband R.J., who both have strong philanthropic legacies in the community. LuCille, who taught high school English and also arranged for the Red Cross to use Spencer as a bandage-making location during World War II, was awarded Spencer's Outstanding Citizen in 1977. As an avid traveler and reader, LuCille shared stories of her trips and adventures through many postcards she sent home. Genuinely kind and caring, she would anonymously provide shoes for an entire family each Christmas.
Upon LuCille's passing, a generous financial gift was left to construct either a fine arts center or a library. A theater was decided to be developed so that children could expand their horizons. In 1996, the LuCille Tack Fine Arts Center was built adjacent to the Spencer High School. It features comfortable seating for 501 people, excellent acoustics, and an ample stage. With an eclectic mix of high-quality cultural events, family entertainment, and educational programs, the success of the Tack Center is a true representation of LuCille's vision and passion to encourage a variety of opportunities to enlighten, enrich, and develop artistic growth for community members of all ages.
Donations from The Nelson-Jameson Foundation support this vital institution's continued growth and success by expanding programming. providing scholarships to aspiring artists and performers and funding new equipment and maintenance costs. By contributing to the LuCille Tack Fine Arts Center, we help to enrich the community and build active connections with others and ourselves.
Set for the 2023-2024 year, look for productions including The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, the musical drama of Harriet Truman and the Underground Railroad, Rose Revere, Engineer and Friends, and a comedy percussion show, Buckets N Boards.
Bravo!
