In 1981, the National Farm Medicine Center (NFMC) was established as a proactive response to farming patients seeking medical care for occupational health injuries and concerns. Designated as part of the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute, NFMC has a dedicated focus on agriculture operations in rural populations.
