International Dairy Foods Association and Truckload Carriers Association Honor the leading food processing distributor and its fleet
MARSHFIELD, WI - January 9, 2025 | Nelson-Jameson, a leading distributor in the food processing industry, announced that it has been awarded the 2024 International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) Dairy Industry Safety Recognition Award for outstanding worker safety at its Marshfield, Wisconsin, and Turlock, California facilities. Additionally, NEXT Logistics, part of the Nelson-Jameson family of companies, has won the Truckload Carriers Association Fleet Safety Award.
Dairy Industry Safety Recognition Award
For more than two decades, IDFA has celebrated outstanding workplace safety achievements within the U.S. dairy industry through its annual recognition program. Now in its 21st year, the initiative highlights companies committed to fostering safe work environments and cultivating a strong culture of safety.
To qualify for the award, participants provided comprehensive applications, including occupational injury and illness performance rates and a detailed narrative outlining safety training initiatives and proactive measures. These applications were evaluated based on equal consideration of OSHA-reported injury statistics and the narratives provided.
“At Nelson-Jameson, we are deeply committed to the belief that every accident and injury can be prevented. Safety is at the heart of our daily operations across all of our strategic distribution centers nationwide,” says Mike Rindy, President of Nelson-Jameson and NEXT Logistics. “Receiving this recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our employees, who continuously strive to create a safer workplace and protect the well-being of our team.”
The complete list of award winners can be found on IDFA’s website.
Truckload Carriers Association Fleet Safety Award
NEXT Logistics also won the Truckload Carriers Association Fleet Safety Award. The 2024 TCA Fleet Safety Award, which recognizes the safest truckload fleets in North America, divides honorees into six categories based on fleet size, with the top division reserved for carriers exceeding 100 million miles annually. In its first year participating, NEXT Logistics qualified for Division 1, which includes carriers with less than 5 million miles. With 1.5 million accident-free miles logged during fiscal year 2024, the company secured third place in its division.
Earlier this year, NEXT Logistics was also recognized for the third consecutive year with the Wisconsin Motor Carrier Association's (WMCA) Fleet Safety Award, which honors fleets operating safely within Wisconsin. The fleet logged 545,507 accident-free miles driven in the state.
