No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!®
Few things compare to the joy of sleeping in a nice, comfy bed with soft, clean sheets and a cozy blanket. Sinking into a plush mattress and a pillow makes rest enjoyable and peaceful, especially after a long school day or a big day of play and wonder. It's a safe place to wind down and relax by reading or listening to music. A cozy bed can provide quality sleep to help relieve stress and tension while creating a space to look forward to returning to each night. Beds are a special place of security and personalized space. Kids love their beds!
Unfortunately, not all kids have beds, so they have to curl up on uncomfortable furniture, such as couches, chairs, and even floors.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a non-profit organization that offers suitable beds and bedding to children of families in need. While many great charities offer other basic essentials such as food and clothing, not many charities provide a proper bed to support quality sleep and the physical, mental, and emotional support that a child needs. SHP is a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering top-notch beds to children and families.
Developed in a garage, SHP is now a nationwide organization that is spreading into Canada. In Wisconsin, there are 19 Chapters, one of which is the Spencer, WI Chapter, just minutes from Marshfield. The 100% volunteer group serves kids right in the area. All funds are used to build and deliver fully furnished beds with new mattresses, bedding, and pillows.
Nelson-Jameson matched contributions to SHP because we believe in children. We want kids to sleep well to recharge their imaginations and fuel their bodies to take on the next big day of adventure. We want kids to sleep well to fight off sicknesses and grow to healthy margins. We want kids to develop good habits that lead to conquering bigger goals and ambitions that will out their doubts and fears.
We want all children to have a comfortable place to lay their heads and dream—they deserve it.
