The Nelson-Jameson Foundation is focused on supporting philanthropic organizations that enhance our core value as a Golden Rule Company. Grants are targeted toward charitable programs that are related to the food and dairy industries or support charities that are important to Nelson-Jameson employees and the communities in which they reside.

The Golden Rule Scholarship Program
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation is working to educate students and offer solutions for social challenges by providing The Golden Rule Scholarship Program. Family members of Nelson-Jameson employees can apply for scholarships at accredited two or four year schools. An independent committee reviews the applications. View the Golden Rule Scholarship Program policy.
The scholarship application for 2024 will be available on this web page starting January 15, 2024 with submissions due by the end of March 2024.
The Golden Rule Assistance Fund
To help employees cope during an unexpected crisis due to a federal, state or locally declared emergency the Nelson-Jameson Foundation can provide assistance through The Golden Rule Assistance Fund. View the Golden Rule Assistance Fund policy.
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation believes that supporting our communities is the shared responsibility of every citizen and corporation. Together we can contribute to a more equitable and resilient world — today and for generations to come.
Donation & Charitable Giving Grants
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation will continue to support 501(c)(3) entities that practice our core values and support the communities where our employees reside through Donation and Charitable Giving Grants.
Matching Gift Program
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation wants to support causes that our workforce cares about. The Matching Gift Program will match donations between $100 and $1,000, that employees make to 501(c)(3) charities. Donations will be matched by the Foundation one dollar for every dollar contributed by the employee, up to $1,000 in a fiscal year (October 1 – September 30). Select charities will have a two dollar match from Nelson-Jameson Foundation as determined by the Board. View the Matching Gift Program policy.
The Nelson-Jameson Foundation is committed to funding scholarships for students studying food and dairy science at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of Wisconsin Madison, as well as UW-River Falls. It is our intent to expand this program nationwide to help fund the education of future innovators in the industry.
Under our current IRS 501(c)(3) status, the Foundation is unable to support individuals or families (other than through the Golden Rule Assistance Fund and the Scholarship Program). In addition, the Foundation is unable to fund programs for religious purposes, direct lobbying or political entities/campaigns.
